As artists, photographers had extraordinary visual sensitivity, and they thought and expressed themselves naturally through visual images. As artists, they used the new tool (a camera) as other artists before them have used brush and pencil – to interpret the world, to present a vision of nature and its structure as well as the things and people in it.
