Holiday Photograph Idea

This idea came to me while my girlfriend and I were putting up the Charlie Brown tree. My sister had just asked me to take their family portrait this year and I had ideas streaming through my head. Why not have them all pose and take the photograph of their reflection in a Christmas bulb? I wasn’t sure how it would come out, my tripod was in the car as well as my good camera. I highly recommend using a tripod and hiding the camera in the shadows.

The end result was great and I am going to use it for some of my portrait photography. The reflection on the bulb makes it look as though you’re inside the bulb looking out. If your on the fly like myself, have your significant other hold one side of the camera and you hold the other, he or she can press the shutter when you’re all set. Good luck and enjoy.

Me too, reflections are great. I can’t wait to really take my time and use a tripod. I think there is some real potential for some great photos using this method.
