Changing the point of view in an image can dramatically improve or deteriorate it’s composition. It’s possible to see the world in a completely new and exciting way just by changing the direction or angle of your camera. Once in a while though, just a small difference can make quite the difference. The two images below were both taken in the same canyon but with slightly different points of view. Which do you prefer?

This shot was taken next to the Virgin River at Zion National Park at a height of about 4ft from the ground, typical tripod height.
Shot 2
This shot was taken about 12″ from the ground moved about one foot to the right with a two legs of the tripod in the river.
