Photo Journal

MV-2

Day Eighty Two

Liz sends us another shot she took from the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park in Arizona of a sun rise she took from the balcony at the hotel she was staying at.  What hotel was that?  Incredible view.  The light metering was perfect as well as the composition, the slight haze over the desert accentuates the orange hues from the sun.  Just beautiful.  Makes me want to put something leather on and punch a horse or a cow or whatever it is cowboys do.  Thanks for the submission and keep them coming!

It was the View Hotel which is situated right in the mist of this amazing park and we were fortunate to have a room facing the buttes and cliffs. Many TV commercials and movies have been filmed in this area just because of the reasons you mention – it epitomizes what one thinks of when it comes to cowboys and Indians. Monument Valley truely is an amazing place.

I would say “the View Hotel” really did have “the view.” I will have to add that place to my ever growing list of places to visit. Thanks again.
